Majesty 2 : The Fantasy Kingdom Sim (2009)

RELEASE DATE : 09-17-2009
GAME TYPE : Strategy

Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim blends the excitement of kingdom building simulation with the depth of a role-playing game. The game includes one single-player campaign, 10 multiplayer missions, 16 maps, and multiplayer modes for two or four players.

As you’ll no doubt remember, Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim is the official sequel to Cyberlore’s original game that was around back at the turn of the millennium. Whilst a sequel was planned by the original developers, it was eventually canned, and nothing more was done to the series.

Ten years later and the long lost sequel has finally been realised, thanks to new developer’s 1C and their distributer, Paradox. Like when any publisher acquires an IP that started life elsewhere, Paradox have tried to make a game that stays true to the old-school Majesty spirit, whilst also possessing a bit of Paradox flavour.

Majesty 2 The Fantasy Kingdom Sim In the world of Majesty, you are the ruler of the Kingdom in peril. Your rule is not absolute, however, as you face subjects that are independent and stubborn. They will need a great deal of persuasion before they carry out your wishes... This is a 3rd-person, 3D RTS game in which you have to build and protect your kingdom. To do so, you need to build buildings to recruit heroes and cast magic and build shops so that your castle can stay alive. In each quest, you have a different task, and different ways to fail that task. You may build and upgrade buildings to provide new weapons and items for your heroes, as well as gain more peasants, tax collectors, guards, and heroes, or to protect your realm with ballista towers.

- Unique class behaviors that allow heroes to react and interact differently
- Grouping that allows players' heroes to be stronger in a party than when fighting alone
- Multiple flags that allow players to offer rewards to their free-willed heroes for attacking, defending, exploring, and ignoring areas on the map
- Upgradable weapons, armor and characters give players feedback on their heroes as they progress and level-up
- The ability to build portals that speed up the gameplay and allow heroes to move around the map quicker
